With each liquor company working overtime to one up one another, it makes for an interesting and unique experience for the consumer - especially when they decide to go into the higher-end of tasty and put our tastebuds to a unique test.

Click to Tweet This NowThe latest liquor trend to do such a thing? Botanical-inspired liquors.

If you've done fruit and savory, it's definitely time to try flowers and foliage. There are a handful of companies currently creating botanical-inspired liqueurs so good that you can even drink them straight, but blending them in the right drink makes them taste that much better.

Some of our favorites:

Though they've been around for a while now, St. Germain is some of the tastiest liquor on the market today. It's made from fresh, wild elderflowers straight from the Alps - and yet it has notes of citrus, pear and passionfruit. It's the first liqueur in the world to use elderflowers as its base, and thank goodness they figured out how to create such a delicious libation from a flower harvested just once a year, every spring. Otherwise, we wouldn't have their tasty signature drink to call our own - the St. Germain Cocktail, with two shots of champagne or dry white wine, a shot and a half of St. Germain, and two shots of soda. Seriously - one taste of this, and you'll know why it's an award winner.

Also destined for award-winning status is Crizm and Theia from Fruit Lab Liqueurs, the folks behind TRU Organic Vodka and Modern Spirits Vodka. Crizm is a rich, red-toned liqueur using hibiscus as its base, giving a tangy berry flavor, but a floral aroma. Theia, meanwhile, is all about jasmine. Exotic and delicious, Theia works well with champagne or as an addition to a simple soda and lime. Crizm, meanwhile, is an awesome addition to a margarita. Just add a shot of it to two ounces of tequila, a quarter ounce of their citrus liqueur Citry, and a quarter ounce of fresh lemon juice. Yum!

Meanwhile, Square One Botanical Vodka isn't just organic, and made from rye - making it awesome for people who have gluten sensitivities but still love vodka. But it's also infused with a blend of eight organic botanicals - pear, rose, chamomile, lemon verbena, lavender, rosemary, coriander and orange peel. If it sounds good enough to drink, that's because it is! And luckily, the site offers tons of cocktail recipes for you to try it with.

And last but certainly not least, there's Pinky Vodka. Pinky is distilled five times from pure glacial water and winter wheat, and is hand blended with violets, rose petals, and ten other botanicals. They describe the flavor as "kissed with the delicate fragrance of a midnight garden," and they're dead serious about their blend - it's courtesy of Scandinavian wine blenders. So how do you drink it? Straight up, if you please... or, we recommend the Pinky #1 - one part each of Pinky, cranberry juice, and sparkling water.

Happy drinking!
