If you live in the D.C. area, you've probably heard about or maybe even seen the camera crews following around an elite group of ladies rumored to be the stars of the Real Housewives of D.C.

Click to Tweet This NowAlthough the women are remaining coy about their involvement with the show until an official announcement has been made, we were lucky enough to catch up with one of them to talk about life in the nation's capital.

Michaele Salahi, former model and co-founder of America's Polo Cup, dishes on her favorite restaurants, romantic date spots and more.

Your husband, Tareq Salahi, founded Oasis Winery, located outside of D.C. in the beautiful hunt country of Hume, Va. Is that also where you reside?
Yes, we live in Hume and absolutely love it. We also have a farm house in the Shenandoah Valley.

Do you have a home in the city as well?

We have recently just started house hunting for a home in the city where we will do major entertaining.

Tell us about Virginia Wine Country and what makes it special.
Virginia Wine Country has something for everyone, from Rhone-style varietals to French-style Champagnes to Greek-style wines to Honey Mead wines. What really sets Virginia Wine Country apart from everyone else is that you can travel the world right here in our own backyard without needing to get on a plane to any other wine region – it's the best "stay-cation" you can have for a great value and romantic experience. What is especially incredible is the passion you find at the local wineries, from the winemakers and the families to the restaurants and inns that surround Virginia Wine Country.

Country life or city life? Which do you prefer?
I am a city girl. When I met Tareq, I began to appreciate the country life – but at the end of the day, I am a city girl. I am blessed to have a beautiful balance of both.

You and your husband are often seen at polo matches. Can you tell us a little bit about your involvement with the sport?
I love polo. It's the most amazing sport in the world. I am the co-founder of the America's Polo Cup, which is the United States' largest international polo match. Each year a different country challenges the U.S. Polo Team. My husband also captains the official United States Polo Team, so we travel globally playing polo, representing our sponsors and the United States of America. It's naturally something I love. The sport is filled with fashion – with the ladies wearing beautiful hats – as well as great speed and excitement. We also have spectacular concerts during half time from performers such as Journey, Huey Lewis and The News and the American Idol Stars.

Speaking of fashion, we've heard you have quite a collection of shoes. What are some of your favorites?
I love to accessorize with shoes. My favorites are Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Christian Dior, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Manolo Blahnik and so many more!

How about restaurants? Where do you love to eat?
My favorite is The Inn at Little Washington. I also love Café Milano, where I first met Tareq. Bistro Francais in Georgetown and P.F. Chang's are great too, and it's always fun to go to the Mikado Japanese Teppanyaki Steakhouses where they cook the food right in front of you!

Where are some of your favorite places for a romantic evening?
I love being at the vineyard during fall sunsets...and again, the most romantic place in the evening is always The Inn at Little Washington, which is where I had my first date with Tareq.

What charities do you support? Any memorable charity events that you've attended recently?
I support numerous charities in D.C. Specifically, I was the campaign manager for my husband when he ran for National Man of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We won by raising the most amount of money nationally for LLS of D.C. and I am very proud of that accomplishment that we made together. I am also a fierce advocate for MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and I would love to be a part of finding the cure one day soon.

Lastly, as a former cheerleader for the Washington Redskins, what's your outlook on the season?
I am always optimistic – GO SKINS!!!
