Well, the season has arrived and the spooks are waiting for you behind every corner. If you like a good scare, we can tell you the best places to visit. We've got the best 11 frightening spots in America, including last year's winner, the Eastern State Penitentiary.

Each and every one of our picks is scarier than the last and just looking through this list, you're sure to feel the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Do you dare?

We looked all over the country and found a few new scary places along with some of the great old classics. But don't fool yourself, every single one of these spots have prepared all year long to be sure that they can terrify you beyond your worst nightmares!

Once you've checked out all the haunts, make plans to go as soon as you can. You'll be sure to have a ghoulish time but beware of the evil that lurks within. They'll certainly keep you on your toes. Perhaps you should go in disguise or maybe you should bring someone to protect you. But no matter how you decide to go -- just be sure you're brave enough to go inside.
