Though events and fundraisers happen throughout the year for Beast Cancer Awareness, October marks the month that everything kicks into high gear with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
There are countless ways for you to participate in fundraising events for the month, whether you're a runner or walker, or just a champion shopper. Some of the more fun and unique things launching to help make a difference:
Shopbop has teamed up with Elizabeth and James to create a gorgeous and delicate necklace, which retails for $58. The awesome part? 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Y-ME.
Erin Condren has personalized Breast Cancer Awareness stationary, with cards running $30- $40 a pack and 50% of your purchase donated to either your personal fundraising efforts, or the efforts of a friend. Just share the link of the page you would like to give the donation to upon your purchase, and Erin Condren will take care of the rest!
Lisa Stewart has designed a stunningly cool pink leather banded bracelet with a silver tag that reads "Survivor." You can find it at Kitson for $95, and 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Y-ME.
Hurley has designed a fun and sassy t-shirt that retails for $19.99 at hurley.com. Amazingly, 100% of the sales will go to B4BC.
Officially launching October 1st, Swarovski is introducing fashionable new pink accessories this October and ten percent of the proceeds will go to The Libby Ross Foundation's Yoga Program For Breast Cancer Survivors. The collection includes the Pink Erika pendant (retail $220), the pink Power bag (retail $850), the pink Glam cardholder (retail $190), and a pink heart shaped brooch (retail $65).
Shop Sephora for Clinique's limited-edition Lipgloss Key Chain with a pink ribbon charm, Clinique "C" charm and three mini Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in the colors Air Kiss, Kissyfit and Whisper, each of which were chosen to compliment the campaign's signature color. They retail for $18.50, but $10 from each sale goes to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Meanwhile, at the Clinique home site, you can get a special limited edition bottle of Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - with a jumbo-sized bottle equipped with a pump featuring a collectable Clinique Charm Bracelet - for $35, with $10 donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Suki is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sales of the sukiface line's two best-selling products – exfoliate foaming cleanser and sensitive cleansing bar – to Breast Cancer Action during both October and November. The funds will support BCA's "Think Before You Pink" campaign, launched in 2002 in response to the growing concern about the overwhelming number of pink ribbon products and promotions on the market, encouraging consumers to ask critical questions about pink ribbon promotions.
e.l.f. is also donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their Nail Polish in Bubble Gum Pink to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (And in case you're worried, the formula is Vitamin E-infused, Toluene, Formaldehyde and DBP-free.)
Created to promote breast cancer awareness and research, BORBA offers a gorgeous lip tint in a sheer shade appropriately called Lovely, which donates 10% of net proceeds from the sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The tint is made with shea butter, cashmere fibers, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil and vitamin E, among other tasty goodies.
Five Rivers Wines supports women's causes throughout the year, but this month they're donating funds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, and Gilda's Club. Buy a bottle of one of their awesome wines, and $1 per bottle sold in the month of October in select states will honor various local charities. In Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation, while in Kentucky, New Orleans and Colorado, the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen will receive funds.
Pinky Vodka has partnered with What A Pair! to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Not only are they sponsoring A Celebration of Duets to Benefit Breast Cancer Research - featuring Grey's Anatomy's Loretta Devine, Deborah Gibson, Joely Fisher, The Office's Kate Flannery, Marg Helgenberger and many more - but they're also donating $2 from every bottle of Pinky sold throughout the month. And if you buy a bottle to help support What A Pair!, you get a Pinky manicure set!
In terms of events, the Susan G. Komen site has a full listing of benefit races going on throughout the month of October, while the National Breast Cancer Awareness Site includes tips on events such as Lee Jean's national denim day, the Global Breast Cancer Conference, and more.
So whether you're fitness or fashion-minded, or just like a good cocktail or a glass of wine, make sure you spend your money where it counts and help women everywhere who deal with and are affected by breast cancer!

There are so many wonderful ways to support breast cancer awareness month and it's awesome to see how many companies are getting involved and helping fight breast cancer this month and throughout the year. Another way that I have chosen to spend my money on helping fight BC is investing in an treatment currently in FDA trials for a patented immunotheraphy treatment. You can invest through http://breastcancerinvesting.com. Be involved somehow this month to help fight breast cancer!!

Another great breast cancer awareness fundraising item is the Swarovski Crystal Temorary Body Tattoos at Sparkle Plenty Designs: http://sparkle-plenty.com/accessories.html. They're pretty and perfect for raising money for awareness.
