When people think of South Dakota, they normally think of Mount Rushmore or the rich Native American history. South Dakota also supports agriculture, like corn, soybeans and hogs, but it's not the kind of place where you would expect to see a bunch of McDonald's and Taco Bells pop up. So it may surprise you that Sioux Falls, the one and only South Dakota city to make it on the list, ranked as the number four most fast food-addicted city.
Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota with a population of around 155,000 people and most residents commute by car through the area. But the weather is often extreme with very cold, dry winters and very hot, humid summers. It's no wonder that people don't like to get out of their cars to pick up dinner when they can just drive through one of the many fast food locations in their neighborhood.

It appears that Burger King is the fast food of choice in the city as the King is even listed as one of the featured dining spots in Sioux Falls on their own tourism Website. But you'll also be sure to find plenty of Arby's, Dairy Queens and Wendy's as well. They even have a restaurant called China Express, which sounds like a fast food place just from the name. - 100 Fast Food-Addicted Cities

On the bright side, Sioux Falls has a lot of other great dining experiences to offer. Falls Overlook Cafe features beautiful views of the area and Monk's House of Ale Repute is way more than just a funny name. In addition, the city's art scene is blossoming, with several offerings, including the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Sciences and the annual Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Festival.
And, while you're in town, avoid the fast food spots and get yourself a healthy smoothie instead.

We joke about how many eating places there are in Sioux Falls. And there are. But we have a huge variety with many high end resturants that serve fantastic food at a reasonable price. We would be remiss if we did not mention Minerva's which has been in Sioux Falls for many years consistently serving healthy wonderful food. As to weather, of course we go out in the cold of winter. We are acclimated to it. Sioux Falls is actually a hidden treasure out in the open.
