The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board is starting a new marketing campaign with a Website called The Cheese & Burger Society. Not to be confused with the Scottish cheese n' burger, which is a batter-fried cheeseburger, these are variations on the cheese-meat-and-bun cheeseburger.Their Website has thirty different cheeseburgers pictured in a virtual recipe rolodex. Each burger has three tabs: a picture; the recipe; and information on the type of cheese that's on the burger.
Some of these are somewhat conventional. Some should be featured on This Is Why You're Fat.
Here are a top six of the featured cheeseburgers:
6. The Couch Potato
Smoked pepper pork into Wisconsin blue cheese, on a beef patty that's laid on some thick-cut potato chips and sauteed onions, garlic mayonnaise on a buttered bun.
5. The Johnny Appleseed
Wisconsin aged cheddar, beef patty, maple bacon, sauteed apples, sauteed onions with whole grain mustard on sourdough loaf.
4. The Brooklyn
Wisconsin swiss, beef patty, corned beef, sauerkraut, with thousand island dressing on grilled dark rye.
3. The Mamma Mia
Wisconsin mozzarella, beef patty, pepperoni, sauteed button mushrooms, sauteed onions, with pizza sauce on crusty Italian loaf.
2. The Sheyboygan
This one should destroy any inhibitions of overdoing it. Wisconsin cheese curds, beef patty, split bratwurst, sauteed onions, sauerkraut and beer mustard on a kaiser roll.
1. The Macho Nacho
If the Sheyboygan didn't kill you then step it up to the Macho Nacho
Ready? Here it is: Wisconsin cheddar, Wisconsin swiss, 4 to 8 beef patties, tortilla chips, pickled jalapenos, sliced red onions, iceberg lettuce, black olives, tomatoes on a big burger bun.
