TV pitchman Bill Mays was found dead in his Florida home Sunday morning. Mays is best known for his over the top rants about his famous cleaning products that include OxiClean and Orange Glo. He just landed a TV show on the Discovery Channel called Pitchmen. The reality show featured Billy Mays and fellow TV infomercial star Anthony Sullivan as tried to find the next big product. Discovery plans on airing an all day marathon of Pitchmen on July 1st.

Billy Mays was found in his home this morning by his wife. The Internet has been flooded with questions to why the commercial god died in a week where we saw the loss of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. His Twitter page may offer some clues. He Tweeted Saturday at 12:01PM "a close call" he had on a flight home.

"Just had a close call landing in Tampa. The tires blew out upon landing. Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air."

TMZ is reporting that Anthony Sullivan his co-host on the Pitchmen show told a Tampa Bay radio host that Billy Mays "hit his head on the overhead luggage compartment" when the flight landed. Mays was flying home from Philadelphia to have hip replacement surgery on Monday. Mays was 50 years old and an autopsy is planned in the next few days, but the reported head injury and quick death sounds eerily like actress Natasha Richardson.

Update: Billy Mays' autopsy report states Mays had an enlarged heart that could have caused sudden death

Billy Mays son also has a Twitter page and plans on wearing blue in memory of his father on Monday.

They say celebrities die in three. Is it the same for TV pitchmen?
