I remember watching an episode of Top Chief where one of the judges told the contestants, If you want to make people happy give them bacon. Black Rock Spirits of Seattle, Washington have done just that, but with vodka!

Introducing Bakon, a premium flavored vodka, a vodka guaranteed to evoke one of two reactions: you're either totally grossed out or, like me, you've decided that this will go down in history as one of the greatest inventions ... ever.

The idea was hatched by three friends who were looking for something different in their Bloody Mary. They had noticed all the vodka infusions hitting the market were all sweet flavored, so why not try it with everyone's favorite breakfast food?

The boys at the distillery worked hard on this one, using superior quality Idaho potatoes and a single heating process that is supposed to give you a cleaner tasting vodka. Once this was finished, the bacon flavor was added -- just enough not to overpower the spirit or to leave a nasty aftertaste.

The part that amazes me: this vodka is great both as a cocktail or a marinade. You can have their version of a Bloody Mary called a Bakon Mary or a Bakon Chocolate Martini. How about trying it on your steak? The Bakon Vodka Marinated Steak sounds like something to die for. Check out all their cool recipes.

Bakon vodka just hit the shelves a few weeks ago, and is currently sold inlimited quantities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. The release has already garnered quite a bit of attention, which will probably result in it going nationwide very soon. I can't wait to cook up a couple of sunny side up eggs, with a side of Bakon Vodka.
