Neil Young and Neil Diamond share little in common aside from the fact that they both sing and both their parents named them Neil. But where Young is hippie, anti-corporate rock, Diamond is upbeat, love-song rock. This Fall, they share another common ground: North America. Both are on tour now through Canada and the US.
Neil Young toured Europe earlier this year before bringing the show back to the Western Hemisphere. As of today, he has nine shows left on his North American schedule that will take him through Ontario, including two nights at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and back to the states, stopping at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia on December 12 and Madison Square Garden in New York City for two nights (December 15 & 16) before he leaves for nine shows in Australia and New Zealand.
Neil Diamond, on the other hand, only has North American venues left on his schedule. The singer will play Toronto's Air Canada Centre tonight and tomorrow before rolling back into the US. His stateside stops include the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts on December 6, the Pepsi Center in Denver on December 17 and the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on January 2, 2009.
Named #33 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, Steve Winwood is ready to tour for the first time since 2007. After releasing his latest album, Nine Lives, to successful reception from fans, Winwood named several East coast locations where he plans to play in the new year.
The tour is set to kick off January 15 & 16 when Winwood will play the United Palace in New York City for two nights. After that, the singer will head to venues in Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and then back through New York again. The tour only includes eight dates ending January 24, 2009 when Winwood plays the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston, New York.
