Cranberries often take a co-starring role to your turkey on Thanksgiving but this year, Ocean Spray is trying to get a leg-up on the bird by entering a float into the 82nd Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fancy!
The float will feature an homage to the original Thanksgiving Day meal by representing the original attendees with adorable woodland creatures as James Taylor sings "America The Beautiful". While we think it's a mistake that the float will not feature the iconic cranberry bog often seen in the company's commercials, we look forward to seeing this new edition and others.
The latest Disney star "Bolt" will get a chance to show his stuff on a brand new float and he'll be joined by Miley Cyrus who will perform on board. Other new floats this year include the Castle of Dreams float from the online My Princess Academy showcasing the qualities that define a princess, the Harajuku Girls float featuring a representation of downtown Tokyo and the real Harajuku Girls and, finally, the Shine On float is brought to us by Jimmy Dean and showcases a gorgeous morning as a giant sun and moon repeatedly trade places around the float.
The Oneida Indian Nation also hosts a float that will tell the creation story about the Sky Woman who came to rest on the back of a turtle, or Mother Earth. A beautiful representation of Central Park in wintertime takes center stage on the final new float called "Winter Wonderland".
A Smurf float will also follow a brand new Smurf balloon this year -- just one new balloon in the line up. Buzz Lightyear and Horton, the elephant who holds a small clover -- the home to the Whos of Whosville -- in his trunk, round up the new balloon line up.
