Las Vegas, the land of buffets and betting, may be expensive if you tend to loose your wagers but you can at least save your money on both food and drinks -- if you know where to get the best prices. Or check out Vegas Popular for more on Las Vegas living.

Give the places on our top five cheap eats list a try and use anything you win on drinks at our five spots to find drink specials.
5. Boulder Cafe
Grab some food at this little spot which generally attracts the family types looking for good deals on decent food. The Trifecta Meal deals allow patrons to three courses for under $10 making this one of the better bargains off the Strip.
4. Cafe Siena
Located inside the Suncoast Casino, this little spot offers a pretty divers menu. Patrons can enjoy options ranging from deli sandwiches to chicken parmigiana to Alaskan halibut. The prices, even for a sit-down dinner, never get terribly high and the food keeps guests satisfied.
3. Market Street Cafe
The Market Street Cafe brings a little island flavor to Las Vegas. This California Hotel dining spot provides daily specials priced at only $7.95, even for the seafood dishes. And the option for the salad bar gives you the opportunity to really fill up on a cheap meal.
2. Ellis Island Restaurant
The Ellis Island is a bit of a trip from the Strip but it's well worth it. It's open 24 hours each day and provides daily specials to the hungry souls who walk through the front door. Since it is also a brewery, you have the opportunity to try some great beers as well.
1. Robertos Taco Shop
This taco stand offers some amazing food for an amazingly low price. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the Mexican dishes available within the walls of this comfortable little establishment. In addition, you can find the same quality food at several locations in the area.
Where to go for drink specials:
5. Paradise Cantina
Paradise offers up two-for-one deals to all those interested during happy hour (4:00 to 8:00 pm daily) making this one of the better cheap places to get your drink on. And on Taco Tuesdays, you can get yourself $2 beers and $3 margaritas.
4. Kona Grill
The happy hour at Kona starts at 3:00 and lasts until 7:00 pm giving you plenty of time to come in and enjoy drink specials at the bar. Among other great bargain deals, appetizers are half priced.
3. Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar
Boasting a pretty impressive happy hour, Firefly sells drinks at half the regular price from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday through Thursday and 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Fridays. But the drinks are generally not terribly expensive to begin with. Beers start at about $3.
2. P T's Pub
A local chain, these quiet little spots offer up affordable drinks pretty much any time of day. Locations are popping up around Nevada (mostly in Las Vegas) and they've really figured out how to treat their clientelle well. Get one of their signature cocktails and that may be all the drink you need for the night saving you a good deal of cash.
1. Casa Fuente Cigars
Whether you like cigars or not, Casa Fuente is a good place to go for a reasonably priced drink. Happy hour lasts from 4:00 to 7:00 pm daily and drastically reduces the price on their average cocktail. Thursdays are a real steal with "En Fuego": get $5 cocktails from 8:00 to 10:30 pm.

Ellis Island is not "a bit of a trip from the strip". It's like 2 blocks behind Ballys. You can walk there. I know you can't really visit all the places you are recommending, but at least check mapquest.

Cheap Drinks in Vegas, you have to add Casino Royale... $1 Michelob or Michelob Light, and $1 Daquiri... Also, O'sheas casino bar.. $1. 16oz draft beer...
As far as cheap drinks and eats.. New Orleans should have made your list. Great Bars and small restaurants that are cheap and good
