CommNexus is bringing technology to a San Diego audience who will determine what the "Greatest Gadget" of the GadgetFest is again this year. For 8 years, San Diego has hosted the event and this year will be no different. As the fest approaches, tech companies are rushing to prepare a showcase of their gadgets and on October 23, they will be judged by the San Diego public opinion at the Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall.

The purpose of the GadgetFest is to boost San Diego's tech industry by encouraging local tech companies to participate alongside not-so-local companies. In the past, Nokia, LG and Motorola have all participated.

Aside from a competition, the fest is also an opportunity for audiences to become familiar with new gadgets. Last year, the public was introduced to the Motorola MC17, a scanner that helps consumers purchase items in the grocery store or even to add merchandise to a gift registry. From cell phones to entertainment systems to cameras, the tech industry brings it when it comes to the GadgetFest.

This year, ten companies will compete to earn the title of "Greatest Gadget". Nokia will attend again along with many other companies who are all determined to win.
