Gossip Girl became TV's most popular guilty pleasure when it debuted last season. Fans got hooked on the show thanks to a hot cast and all the Upper East Side drama Last week, the first episodes of Gossip Girl was released on DVD and the new second season begins in September. In the meantime, we've got a guide to some of the New York City sights that appear on the show.

Silvercup Studios in Queens is where most of the Gossip Girl filming goes down. Other Gossip Girl mainstays include the Museum of the City of New York, which is used for exterior shots of Gossip Girl's fictional St. Jude's School For Boys and Constance Billard School for Girls. For the new season, Gossip Girl filmed at Columbia University, which they used as a substitute for Yale. The cast also headed out to Long Island to shoot scenes on the chic beaches in the Hamptons.

Brooklyn got a huge taste of the Gossip Girl action this summer. Packer, an exclusive local private school, is another common stand-in for the show's fake prep schools and Ed Westwick, who plays bad boy Chuck Bass was spotted filming on Clark Street near the Brooklyn Bridge. Best of all, Gossip Girl's resident hotties Blake Lively and Leighton Meester had some kind of excellent hair-pulling cat-fight fest in a Brooklyn brownstone. Yum. I can't wait to see that scene when the new episodes of Gossip Girl premiere next month.
