Big athletic events are starting to show a little foodie muscle. Some big names have taken over behind the scenes and sports fans might be digging in a little more than they were in the past. The US Open kicks off next Monday and the "concession stands" at this event offer quite a bit more than what you might find in nearby Shea Stadium. From a Cuban-inspired restaurant to an elegant wine bar, the pickiest of tennis fans will always find something to eat.
San Diego boasts quite a reputation when it comes to fish tacos. And PetCo Park, home to the San Diego Padres, does not let the city down. The park serves the tasty dish to all fans. Some fans may have tickets to get into the Western Metal Supply Co. and watch the game from the bar in that building.
The Superdome in New Orleans feeds its guests well. A Zatarain's kiosk has been known to pop up serving up sausage jumbalaya as they did at the AllState Sugar Bowl.

"I like the energy of cooking, the action, the camaraderie. I often compare the kitchen to sports and compare the chef to a coach. There are a lot of similarities to it."
